That’s Amaro!
Join us on October 22nd at Fox Liquor Bar for a quick but efficient dive into the bittersweet world of amaro. For the uninitiated, amaro is a category of bittersweet herbal liqueur that originated in Italy. It makes an amazing after-dinner drink, but it’s also the secret weapon of choice for an entire country of bartenders.
We’re huge fans of the stuff--so much so that we put it on tap (our Ferrari is made with Campari and Fernet Branca, one of the most popular amari). But there’s way more than meets the shot glass when it comes to this ancient elixir. Brad Thomas Parsons, booze expert and author of the just-released book, Amaro, will be joining us at Fox to lead a one-hour tasting and discussion from 4 to 5 pm. Tickets ($55; purchase here) include 2 cocktails, a taste of six different amari, and some snacks to keep you from falling over. (Read what the New York Times has to say about Brad here.)
Then, join us from 5 to 8pm for an Amaro Power Hour; the Fox team will be featuring a few cocktails from the book, and Brad will stick around to chat, take shots, and sign books.
See you in the foxhole!
