Job: Kitchen Shift Lead, Beasley's + Chuck's

Hometown: Raleigh, NC

How long have you worked at the Cornershop? 3 years

Favorite team memory? The day that Henry Winkler came in for lunch--we were flipping out that The Fonz was eating with us. Even just getting to see him from the kitchen was awesome!

What do you like about your job? I like the familial environment. Everyone looks out for each other, encourages each other. I’ve never had that anywhere that I’ve worked, it's a blessing.

When you’re not working, you’re probably….playing music. Any free time I have is spent practicing and performing with my band. We're called Essex Muro and we play punk rock.

What would you tell a visitor to do while in Raleigh? I'd tell them to go to Poole's Diner for dinner, then hit some of the museums in the area. I love the NC History Museum and the Museum of Natural Science.

What’s your favorite thing on the menu? I usually order the veggie sandwich, but add fried chicken thigh.

Your secret talent is? I know a lot of facts about music and movies--I could talk about it for hours.

It’s hard to believe it, but Beasley’s Chicken + Honey turned five last week, and Chuck’s and Fox Liquor Bar will follow in September. Our team collectively refers to these three spots as The Cornershop: though they each operate independently, the close proximity (they literally share one kitchen) means that the hardworking teams frequently collaborate and multi-task between spots.

So over the next few weeks (until September) we’re celebrating the Cornershop as a whole, by highlighting some of the team members, sharing a few off-the-menu items that we love, and reminiscing on this special place by asking you for your best Cornershop stories. In the process, we’ll be offering a few special giveaways to thank our regulars and supporters for sticking with us and becoming part of the Cornershop family. Here’s how you can join the festivities:

Eat Your Way Through the Hall of Fame

From now through September 11, we’ll be offering a special “hall of fame” item at each shop. Those who post Instagram photos of any Hall of Fame item with the hashtag #5yearsofcornershop will be entered to win a dinner at Beasley’s for 4 people with Ashley Christensen.

• Beasley’s: The OG Chicken Sandwich Fried chicken thigh on a potato roll with shredded iceberg lettuce, and special sauce
• Chuck’s: The Pimento Burger Flat-top seared patty with melted pimento cheese, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise
• Fox: The Kentucky Maid Bourbon, lime juice, cucumber, mint
