Joule Coffee & Table

Open daily from 7am to 7pm. As in past years, we’re excited to feature our Hopscotch inspired cocktail menu through the weekend! We’re also offering a few selected grab-and-go food items at the coffee counter for those on the move. Think biscuit sandwiches and pimento cheese on buttermilk bread. And don't forget the matcha lemonade! Follow @joule_raleigh to keep up with weekend offerings.

Death & Taxes

On Friday, Fox turns FIVE! Come celebrate with our latest tapped cocktail, white sangria, featuring apple brandy, white wine, and ginger. We’ll also be pouring Ferrari shots from the tap, plus all the other cocktail favorites. Open daily from 5 pm to 2 am. Follow @foxliquorbar to keep up with weekend offerings.

Meet the Team: Travis Poole

travispoole

To celebrate #5yearsofcornershop, we wanted to introduce some of the awesome team members that make the place what it is. Say hi to them the next time you come in!

Name: Travis Poole

Job: Grill cook, trainer at Beasley's + Chuck's

Hometown: Greensboro, North Carolina

How long have you worked at the Cornershop? 11 months

Favorite team memory?

I really loved the AC Restaurants holiday party. I knew that Ashley [Christensen] was a fun person, but that night was when I really understood the company philosophy of "work hard, play hard"--she made an ice luge out of a giant block of ice and then poured shots for anyone who wanted one. That was great.

What do you like about your job?

The atmosphere, the people. I like coming in on Saturdays, it’s really busy, everyone’s on point, working as a team. We joke around, but everyone knows the limit and when to get to work.

When you’re not working, you’re probably….

Hanging out with my brother and sister. And bowling. I’ve been bowling a lot lately.

What would you tell a visitor to do while in Raleigh?

I'd definitely suggest that they walk around downtown, maybe hit the Museum of Science. And go to an NC State football game!

What’s your favorite thing on the menu?

At Beasley’s, the chicken biscuit; the Spirit Animal at Chuck’s; and anything with bourbon at Fox.

Your secret talent is?

I love to make people laugh.

Favorite team memory? The day that Henry Winkler came in for lunch--we were flipping out that The Fonz was eating with us. Even just getting to see him from the kitchen was awesome!

What do you like about your job? I like the familial environment. Everyone looks out for each other, encourages each other. I’ve never had that anywhere that I’ve worked, it's a blessing.

When you’re not working, you’re probably….playing music. Any free time I have is spent practicing and performing with my band. We're called Essex Muro and we play punk rock.

What would you tell a visitor to do while in Raleigh? I'd tell them to go to Poole's Diner for dinner, then hit some of the museums in the area. I love the NC History Museum and the Museum of Natural Science.

What’s your favorite thing on the menu? I usually order the veggie sandwich, but add fried chicken thigh.

Your secret talent is? I know a lot of facts about music and movies--I could talk about it for hours.

What do you like about your job? The people. Everyone fits together, and the environment trickles down from the management--everyone is unique but aligns. The team is friendly, happy in their jobs, and they care about the work.

Favorite team memory? I was working one day when it was snowing, and Ashley came in that morning with Rise donuts and coffee for the whole team. I thought that was pretty awesome.

When you’re not working, you’re probably….Doing something outside.

What would you tell a visitor to do while in Raleigh? Definitely eat at one of the AC Restaurants properties, and walk around the grounds of the NCMA.

What’s your favorite thing on the menu? Veggie burger, no pickles, add shredded lettuce.

Your secret talent is? I took bagpipe lessons. I don't know if I can still play, but I used to. I’m also pretty good at coming up with puns.
