A Rainbow Of Dishes To Celebrate Pride

Happy PRIDE Month! We love this time of the year. In addition to celebrating all month long, we are having pride-inspired features at all of our restaurants this week. All proceeds from these specials will be donated to LGBTQ Center Of Raleigh.

Head over to Beasley’s and get the Pride Bowl, a bowl of hot fried chicken served over mashed potatoes and drizzled with buttermilk herb dressing. Next door at Chuck’s we’re featuring totchos, a cross between tots and nachos, topped with either hot buffalo chicken dip or drenched in cheesy bacon goodness (we’re already drooling). Be sure to grab a rainbow shake to round out your colorful meal!

At Fox Liquor Bar we’ve crafted the Pride Flight, a set of six rainbow-colored shooters, pleasing to both your eyes and your tastebuds. Fox is featuring totchos too, for all of your late-night snack needs.

And when the weekend rolls around, be sure to pop by Poole’s for brunch. We’re featuring funfetti hotcakes on Saturday and Sunday this weekend. You can’t miss a brunch like this...

Try one, try ALL. Grab your pals, and come celebrate with us!

Hot weather calls for chillable summer reds

It’s looking like this summer is going to be HOT. In regards to wine, most people associate this season with lights whites or refreshing bubbles, but what about reds? Our beverage director Cappie Peete knows that summer can be the perfect weather for a red wine.

What’s Marrow Magnum Monday? Each Monday, Peete picks a different magnum of wine to offer by the glass. The magnum picks are organized by a monthly theme, giving you a chance to do a deep dive into a region or style by trying wines in large format.

Monday is also the only day of the week that we offer our embered bone marrow--and we’ve come up with some  new ways to feature it!

On June 3rd, we’ll be featuring Las Jaras Glou Glou, from Mendocino County California.  This vibrant red blend is just what you need to beat this heat!  In the words of winemakers Eric Wareheim and Joel Burt, this is a wine that is "fresh, chuggable, and light that tastes like sparkles and bright, summer fruit."

On June 10th, we will feature Marziano Abbona Papa Celso Dolcetto di Dogliani. This juicy and luscious Dolcetto is named after the father of Marziano, who planted every vine in this vineyard.  This wine strikes a beautiful balance between power and elegance with juicy dark fruits and very delicate tannins.

On June 17th, our selection will be Domaine du Pavillon de Chavannes Cote de Brouilly. This old school Beaujolais comes from the highest elevation cru vineyards and offers complexity that you won't find in other Gamays.  It is full of intense fruity and floral aromas with a burst of juicy refreshment.

On June 24th, our final selection this month is Girolamo Russo A Rina Etna Rosso. This exciting red comes from the up and coming region of Etna in Sicily and is great for the Pinot Noir lover. Made from the Nerello Mascalese grape, this selection is full of red berry and currant fruit with a strong mineral backbone that lends incredible complexity and balance.

These chillable reds will make you rethink everything you thought you knew about red wines. Make your Monday reservation(s) here.

Ready for warmer weather? Crushable, refreshing drinks are the perfect compliment.

It’s official… spring menu, now here.

One of our favorite parts of a new season is seeing what fabulous new cocktails our bartenders come up with. This spring, we have four new cocktails, plus two new mocktails, with flavors that everyone in your crew will love. Whether you want to get boozy, or have an alcohol-free night out with your pals, we’ve got you covered.

Now, for the introductions:

Pepper? I Hardly Know Her!

This cocktail was a previous concoction for one of our “People’s Cocktail” events this spring. It was such a crowd pleaser that we’ve decided to welcome it to the menu. This drink is made up of muddled lime, habanero agave, Cocchi Americano, Ramazotti, and vodka.

Old Hound's Tale

We’re putting twists on the old classic, The Greyhound, in this tart, sweet cocktail. It has Peychaud’s bitters, rosemary syrup, lemon, ginger, grapefruit juice, gin and soda, garnished with rosemary and grapefruit. It’s almost too pretty to drink…

Springing Forward

This next cocktail will definitely have you “springing forward”, for another round! Served up and garnished with a begonia flower, this cocktail has Bitterless Marriage Crude bitters, dry vermouth, yellow chartreuse, applejack, and gin. Wowza!

Scout's Honor

Our last new cocktail is dark, dreamy, and delicious. We start with both Peychaud’s and Angostura bitters, then add Montenegro, sweet vermouth, cognac, and rum with a twist of orange.

Mock-arina

Flavor explosions of this mocktail may make you forget that it’s booze-less. Lime, habanero agave, grapefruit, soda, and a taco spiced seasoned rim are all pulled together with a garnish of lime. Pucker up for this one!

Berry Lemonade

Simple, and sweet, our second mocktail is everything that it seems. Lemon, berry tea, strawberry, and soda, served in a goblet with garnished that are picture worthy. No one has to know it is sans alcohol...

People’s Cocktail | Matt Kelly pops up in Raleigh for one night only

Eat, Drink, and Support Our Fellow Community

For those who have never attended one of our People’s Cocktail events, the typical premise is this: four bartenders who craft four specialty cocktails, each cocktail having a partnering charity. Each cocktail ordered equals a vote cast for the aligned charity, and the people of the community decide who the winner of the evening by ordering drinks. Sounds great, right?

This coming Monday, May 20, we are hosting a very special edition of People's Cocktail! We welcome our dear friend and Durham's bearded sweetheart, Matt Kelly, to the foxhole to showcase a pop up menu of snacks from his incredible restaurant, Saint James. We’ll still be featuring four specialty cocktails, but there will be no “good hearted” rivalry involved. This month, all proceeds will go to one cause.

Saint James, along with several other businesses, has been closed since a deadly explosion blasted through downtown Durham last month. The repercussions of this tragedy are still being felt by the community, so all proceeds from Monday's event will go toward a recovery fund set up to provide aid to those impacted by the blast. Funds will be distributed to those who were injured, who are out of work based on closed places of business, and to those trying to rebuild.

Come out on Monday to try some incredible cocktails and snacks, but even more so, to help and support our fellow community members.

Calling “All The People” To Drink For A Good Cause

Drinking For Charity (every month!)

Attention to all fans of the Foxhole, you’ll be happy to hear that we are officially making “People’s Cocktail” a monthly occurrence! That means that every month, you’ll get a chance to try featured “for one night only” cocktails, and have the chance to support a charity by doing so.

For those of you who haven’t attended one of our “People’s Cocktail” events yet, the premise is simple. One night a month, each of our bartenders makes a featured drink and picks a favorite charity. You, the people, come to drink, and we will donate the proceeds of the featured cocktails to the charity picked by the bartender with the most popular drink. That’s right, every drink you order equals one vote for that bartender’s charity.

We’ll be having this month’s event on Monday, April 15th, from 5-8 PM. Four drinks and four charities, but only one can win. But wait, there’s more! We’ve got some amazing snacks to go with our competitive cocktailing. Ashley and the team have been cooking up some delicious features for this event, and we are so excited for you to try a dish or two (it’s dinner, right?).

So, mark your calendars, bring your friends, and head to Fox for this night of fun and good-hearted rivalry.
